Genie Us Privacy Policy

Genie Us is a professional client record and service intelligence application designed for hairdressers and salons. We respect the privacy of our users and their clients and aim to collect and process only the information required to provide the app’s features.
Information stored in Genie Us
Information entered by a salon or stylist may include client names, contact and personal information, appointment or service history, hair and scalp information, colour formulas, product information, notes, preferences, photographs and other information the stylist chooses to record.
Salon account information, such as an email address, is also processed to provide account access and cloud synchronisation.
How information is used
Information is used to provide Genie Us features, including maintaining client records, recalling client preferences and service history, synchronising information between authorised devices, and providing the app’s service, colour, product and client-intelligence features.
We do not use client information for advertising and we do not sell personal information.
Cloud storage and account separation
Genie Us can securely synchronise information using cloud services provided by Supabase. Salon accounts are separated so that information belonging to one salon account is not available to another salon account.
Information may also be stored locally on authorised devices to enable the app to operate.
Photos and camera
With permission, Genie Us may access the device camera or photo library when a user chooses to add client, hair, scalp, colour, product or reference photographs. These permissions are only used to provide the relevant app features.
Microphone and speech recognition
With permission, Genie Us may use the microphone and Apple’s speech-recognition services when a user chooses to use voice features such as Arthur. Audio and speech input are used to understand the user’s requested action or information. Genie Us does not use microphone access for advertising.
Data sharing
Personal information is not sold to third parties. Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate Genie Us, such as cloud infrastructure and platform services, solely for providing the relevant functionality.
Data retention and deletion
Salons and stylists can remove client information from Genie Us when it is no longer required. Users who wish to request deletion of their Genie Us salon account and associated cloud data can contact us using the email address below.
Security
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information stored and transmitted by Genie Us. Users are responsible for protecting access to their devices and salon account credentials.
Children
Genie Us is intended for use by professional hairdressers and salons and is not designed as a service for children to create their own accounts.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Genie Us develops or its features change. The latest version will be published on this page.
